About Black Cave
The Black Cave was conceptualized from an analogy of the prisoners from Plato’s “Allegory of the Cave” and of the Same Gender Loving men of color in the Deep South. The intersectionality of what education can have on an individual, what education can have on peers of an individual, and how individuals utilize education is mirrored in this comparison tremendously. It is hoped that The Black Cave could be a source of release from the prison of stigma and shame associated with SGL men of color.
