Please join us, LIVE LIKE AN ICON and UJIMA MEN'S COLLECTIVE, for an exclusive screening of TAPESTRY, a powerful documentary exploring Black LGBTQ history, resilience, and community.
The film invites audiences to hear firsthand what life was like during the height of the HIV/AIDS crisis in the 1980s—when fear, stigma, and silence shaped daily life, and survival required courage, connection, and activism. Through personal stories and collective memory, TAPESTRY centers the voices of Black LGBTQ+ people whose experiences are too often overlooked in mainstream narratives of the epidemic.
This screening creates space for reflection, remembrance, and dialogue—honoring those lost, uplifting those who survived, and connecting past struggles to ongoing efforts for health equity, awareness, and care in Black communities today.
